Position Summary:
The VP will develop and execute the IT strategy and vision for us, including partnering with the company’s senior leadership team to define technology requirements and solutions over the next several years to drive innovation, prepare for first product launch and to establish efficiencies across the organization. The position will be responsible for establishing an IT staffing plan which includes IT applications development, IT operations, security and infrastructure and an outsourced support staff, all in support of a fast-growing and dynamic biotechnology company with a product launch planned for 2018. The VP of IT will be a seasoned, mature technology leader with experience operating at the senior-most levels of a life sciences organization. He or she will be a highly collaborative business partner focused on building relationships across the company, and will leverage these capabilities by fostering a positive, constructive culture within the technology team. This executive will be a focused, results-oriented leader capable of delivering significant technology initiatives and outstanding IT support/internal operation.
Essential Functions:
• Develop, own and execute a technology strategy and roadmap to support the first product launch and the rapid growth of our R&D pipeline leveraging cloud technology.
• Develop, own and execute on a robust internal customer relationship plan to exceed internal client expectations in a rapid growing environment. Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence employees at all levels.
• Develop and lead a high-performing team of IT professionals; foster a culture of collaboration and support through coaching and mentoring; successfully translate business requirements into team deliverables, individual goals, and objectives.
• Design a multi-year workforce plan that aligns with the growth of the organization and leverages internal and external talent to deliver IT solutions to the organization.
• Serve as IT business partner to the Senior Leadership Team, lead the company’s IT Steering Committee ensuring that the appropriate membership and governance drive the IT strategy.
• Continually seek to improve customer satisfaction levels for internal teams. Ability to make powerful decisions around technology that impacts the organization.
• Continually evaluate new technology trends balancing the need for “enterprise ready” technology with a desire to innovate.
• Define and execute IT plans to deploy new systems, tools and technology and ensure smooth adoption of these deployments.
• Effectively communicate the company’s technology strategy to board of directors, executive team and staff. Ensure that all voices are heard and deeply understand the context for the decision making.
• Establish a robust IT budget, forecasts and long range plans based upon stellar decision making at the Executive Committee and IT Steering Committee.
• Ensure stellar supplier management of all IT vendors and negotiate effective contracts for software, services and other tools.
• Manage IT continuity plans that are appropriate for an enterprise of our size and scope.
• Develop, implement and monitor comprehensive IT security and risk management program including establishing the appropriate policies, trainings and programs. This program must be “right sized” to support our size and scope.
• Establish and maintain effective governance for IT controls. Deep experience in SOX, GxP, HIPAA, Sunshine Act, EU Data Protection and other compliance driven requirements.
• Support the establishment and ongoing support of the commercial organization and other field based employees.
Preferred Experience:
• 10 years of technology leadership experience serving as corporate-level (CIO or equivalent), divisional-level (divisional CIO or equivalent), or direct report to the information technology leader. Experience in a multi-entity, multi-national corporate environment is preferred.
• Strong functional skill set and experience in IT, with a demonstrated capability to lead both applications development and infrastructure teams, and understands current best practices in software applications, security, and infrastructure.
• Direct pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience is required, with experience operating across R&D, manufacturing, and commercial functions strongly preferred.
• Oracle, WorkDay and Veeva experience is a plus.
Preferred Education:
• BS / BA preferably in a relevant technical field.]
• MBA or Graduate degree and / or equivalent preferred.

• Current US work authorization required and French fluency a plus.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
