Lead Planner of the Annual SASB Symposium

• Take ownership of our Symposium, ensuring it fulfills the goals of advancing the conversation on our priority issues, building our brand as a global standard-setter, increasing global attendance, and meeting/exceeding revenue targets
• Lead the planning and execution of the Annual Symposium, including managing event planning, production, budget, and technology vendors as well as the SASB project team
• Drive the agenda planning process, including leading engagement with our internal agenda planning committee
• Recruit and manage speakers
• Project manage Symposium details, from planning to execution to post-event analysis

Lead Planner of Annual Event Calendar

• Lead staff in developing an annual event vision and strategy that advances organizational goals through:
o Planning and executing hosted and co-hosted events (applying filters to determine which events to execute to help us reach our strategic goals)
o Selecting strategic event partners
o Selecting which speaking invitations to accept based on our organizational priorities (see “Managing appearances”)
• Manage annual calendar of webinars, roundtables, and events, ensuring relevant stakeholders are kept apprised of relevant updates
• Lead production, planning, speaker selection, and partnership management of all hosted and co-hosted events and webinars
• Work with colleagues across the organization to develop and finalize event content
• Work with communications team colleagues to market events
• Research and assess resources and best practices for effective event engagement and presentation
• Build processes for repeatability and scalability of events and activities
• Think big to deliver new ideas and creative approaches to continuously improve the attendee experience
• Manage event budgets
• Measure event contribution to SASB’s goals and improve results by continuously refining event strategy and execution

Managing Appearances

• Lead and manage our annual calendar of speaking opportunities
• Proactively identify strategic conferences and venues for reaching targeted decision-makers and stakeholders and pitch speakers
• Vet incoming speaking opportunities based on organizational goals and capacity
• Develop and manage strategic relationships with targeted conveners and conference providers
• Prepare spokespeople for appearances, including coordinating with conference organizers, providing talking points and decks, and coaching speakers
• Develop and maintain a global speakers’ bureau of board members, staff, and representatives (drawing primarily from the Alliance, Investor Advisory Group, and Standards Advisory Group) from different target regions and professions

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for this role, you must have previous professional experience in event planning. We are looking for an exceptional excellent communicator, skilled facilitator, self-driven doer, and amiable team player with C-suite level communications skills, who can thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
• 5 years+ event planning experience; the ideal candidate will also have experience in corporate communications
• Proven experience leading and managing virtual and in-person events
• Experience managing an annual calendar of speaking engagements
• Excellent organizational, attention to detail. and project management skills
• Partner-oriented: a great collaborator, communicator, and creative problem-solver
• Highly organized with the discipline to keep track of multiple parallel projects
• Passion for virtual event technology and an ongoing drive to improve the attendee experience
• Experience in managing projects that have tight deadlines, limited resources, and cross-functional dependencies
• Ability to meet the demands of multiple clients simultaneously, balancing speed with quality and accuracy
• BA required
