The Corporate Tax Department has an opening for a Senior Tax Accountant working with both federal and state tax matters. This position is located in Pleasanton, California.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Prepare tax compliance workpapers to compute and support book-tax differences..
• Preparation of federal and state income tax returns.
• Assist is maintaining and developing tax department systems..
• Assist in federal and state tax planning and other special projects as they arise.
• Prepare and review quarterly estimated tax payment calculations.
• Interact with federal and state auditors.
• Interact with internal audit and financial statement auditors.
• Communicate with various internal departments to gather tax information.
• Assist with quarterly and annual tax provisions for various legal entities.
• Assistance with ad hoc requests.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Education Level:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or equivalent) required. Master’s degree in Taxation, CPA or MBA preferred.
Experience Level:
• 3 – 6 years of tax experience preferred with a large corporate tax department or a Big 4 public accounting firm.
Skills and Experiences:
• 3- 6 years of tax experience with a large corporate tax department or a Big 4 public accounting firm.
• Strong fundamental knowledge of income tax laws and administration.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, leadership skills and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Candidate should be versatile with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong computer skills – Excel, Work, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook.
• Strong Access (data Base) and query report writing skills are preferred.
• Experience with CORPTAX tax return preparation software preferred.
• Demonstrates initiative and drive for results in approach to assignments
