Checkpoint System Engineer

What you will do:

Checkpoint Firewalls – Maintain, upgrade and improve firewalls throughout. Includes keeping OS and Application up to date, monitoring logs and checking anomalies. Add or remove objects and rules as needed. Investigate firewall issues as required.
· Security Officer – Work with AXA-IM Security team for level 1 and level 2 security issues, including any security breaches.
· Ironport – Maintain, upgrade and improve Ironport email filtering infrastructure. Daily check of quarantined messages, delete or release as contents. Check for virus senders, phishing emails, harvester & spam, add senders to the blacklist as needed
· Websense – Maintain, upgrade and improve Websense content filtering infrastructure. Perform daily status checks, unblock URL’s as needed.
· SSL Certificates – Maintain, install and revoke SSL certificates as needed. Including certificates for Webmail, Ironport, MQ and other applications
· SSAE16 – Main point of contact for audits. Interface with Risk Management during audits
· Leavers and Joiners – Create accounts or delete accounts when individuals are leaving or joining the company. When joining or moving roles, make sure correct account privileges are enabled or disabled. Work with Compliance to ensure proper approvals are given for privileges and roles that require Compliance approval
· Reuters – Maintain Reuters Access and controls for Exchanges, Audit when requested.
· Access Security Systems – review logs, create reports and monitor as needed
· Endpoint Security – Maintain, update and improve Symantec Endpoint Antivirus system. Check logs and look for virus’s and other anomalies

o File shares
o Active Directory
o DFS
o BackupExec
o Inforeach clusters
o Laptop support
o Cell phone support
o Desktop support
o MQ Series clusters
o Symantec Enterprise Vault
o Sharepoint
o Latent Zero support

· Responsible for design and presentation of technical training sessions to Systems team across the role’s area of responsibilities.
· Responsible for following the company guidelines / regulations to ensure company data is held in a secure manner, including electronic access or in written format.
· Responsible for raising any security issue or potential security breach to the manager to ensure any potential issues can be secured.
· Responsible for following the budgeting rules for the company, including
o Managing personal expenses
o Controlling company budgets (for relevant budgetary responsibilities) to meet pre agreed forecasts.
o Constantly striving to optimize costs of contracts and services to the benefit of the company.

What you need:

· 3 years Checkpoint Firewall experience in an enterprise environment gained in current or recent roles
· Networking – TCP/IP understanding
· Checkpoint proficiency – holder of firewall checkpoint security certificate
· Cisco experience
· Windows Server 2008 / 2012 experience
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Customer focused
· Ability to prioritize and handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously
· Attention to detail and documentation
· Must be able to lift 50lbs and assist in physical install of servers
· Must be available to work nights/weekends as necessary
