Research Technician *filled

Responsibilities 

Prepare samples for characterization through various means including dimensional metrology, microscopy, chemical compositional testing, mechanical properties, or electrical properties
Use various analytical instruments to characterize samples
Assemble and maintain custom experimental fixtures that have been designed by PARC engineers
Maintain PARC equipment purchased from third party vendors
Perform SOPs (standard operating procedures) to support scientific experimentation
Report data to PARC scientists and engineers
Carefully document work

Qualifications 

Associates Degree and 4 years of industry or research experience or 10 years of industrial engineering or scientific research experience
Familiarity with common laboratory equipment
Understanding of laboratory safety practices
Ability to read manuals for scientific instrumentation and SOPs and operate equipment safely
Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems in equipment
Excellent communication skills
Willingness to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and learn new techniques
