The Release Manager coordinates and manages software releases across the organization. He/she works collaboratively with all participants in the development projects, including product managers, Software and QA Engineers as well as IT Operations to insure timely deployment of releases to production. The Release Manager must communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and also with external customers. He/she must assist in managing projects as well as internal and external inter-dependencies to ensure milestone adherence.

Role and Responsibilities:
Forward plan the release windows
Manage risks and drives the team to resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
Measure and monitor progress to ensure releases are delivered on time and that they meet or exceed functionality expectations
Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes internally and externally
Conduct Release Meetings and produce weekly reports
Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities
Maintains the release schedule for all release activities and ensures alignment across key partners and vendors
Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
Coordinate the deployment activities including the execution of the deployment plans and checklists
Maintains a release repository and manages key information, such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
2-6 years of previous software release and/or project management experience, with at least one year being in a SaaS environment
Formal training in project management practices preferred
Knowledge of software development lifecycle
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
Experience in a similar role at a Startup or smaller company is a plus
