Marketing Operations Manager

JOB SUMMARY

As our marketing operations manager, you bring deep experience building B2B demand gen programs and optimizing digital marketing campaigns, technology infrastructure and reporting processes. You are the internal resources we rely on to operationalize our marketing programs across channels including email, web and paid social. You manage marketing campaigns for our paid products and services (including membership programs, education credentials and licensing), as well as campaigns to raise awareness of our mission and promote business and investor use of our core resources.

You are an essential member of the Communications team, working with internal stakeholders to oversee and implement launch campaigns, measuring reach, results, and impact so you can improve your approach the next time. You bring a broad range of communications and campaign management skills to the table, and you are ready to hit the ground running on day one. REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Communications and Marketing Operations

• Maintain and optimize HubSpot and other technology platforms required to run our channel marketing campaigns.
• Manage master calendar for marketing campaigns, taking responsibility for adjusting dates and timing (seeking input from colleagues as appropriate) to ensure successful execution of integrated programs
• Develop and test blog, social and email content, seeking to increase consumption of top performing assets.
• Maintain and improve lead nurture email workflows
• Work with Graphic Designer to ensure all marketing materials reflect brand standards
• Oversee analytics related to website and blog usage, HubSpot activity, social media, and other marketing analytics such as Google Tag Manager
• Generate quarterly reports and/or presentations on core metrics, targets and benchmarks, with takeaways from analytics findings to support comms team and organizational leadership planning and decision making
• Manage data cleansing and research new ways to enrich the data
• Ensure our campaigns meet best practices for marketing and data privacy
• Stay apprised of digital marketing best practices and champion ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes and tools

Channel Management

• Manage end-to-end execution of communication and marketing launches to reach VRF’s target stakeholders, including developing launch plans, liaising with content owners, operating email, web, and paid campaigns, and reporting on campaign-related analytics
• Establish targets for each channel and continuously refine tactical approach to improve performance
• Manage SEO strategy, making refinements to improve results
• Manage Google Grants/AdWords account by creating and monitoring campaigns
• Understand our core audiences and tailor channel/content approach accordingly

QUALIFICATIONS

The skills and experience required for this role are:

• Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in communications and marketing, with a practice that includes managing lead gen programs across marketing channels
• Experience using marketing technology platforms like HubSpot to build, send, analyze, and improve email nurture and demand gen campaigns
• Strong project management skills with proven ability to juggle multiple priorities, projects, campaigns, and tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear examples of using data for measurement, ROI analysis, and recommendations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Drive to be of service to others and understanding of individual role in owning program results, including failures and successes
• Ability to quickly grasp complex issues and develop communications tactics to support key objectives
• Bachelor’s degree is required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES

No direct employee supervisory responsibilities at this time, but supervisory responsibilities as needed for contractors and freelancers.
