Digital Content and Web Strategist

Job Summary

As Digital Content and Web Strategist, you oversee the production and proactive improvement of our key resources for businesses and investors. You regularly review our websites and conduct user research to identify areas for improvement, and then manage those projects to their successful completion, using metrics to fuel ongoing refinement. You are a talented writer who excels in distilling complex concepts into accessible language and visuals. You are also a keen listener; always on the lookout for stakeholder feedback that helps us improve our library of content and maximize its impact and reach. You wear many hats, including writer, editor, project manager, user researcher and user advocate. You are a highly collaborative team member who works with colleagues across the organization to understand evolving user needs and optimize our content accordingly; thus helping us achieve our mission.

Areas of Responsibility

Our work is fast-paced and, while the primary areas of responsibility are as follows, we value adaptability and a collaborative mindset.

User Research/Analytics

• Periodically conduct user research to identify UX/UI and content improvements of our websites
• Work with the Outreach and Research teams to regularly attain stakeholder feedback and identify best ways to efficiently meet evolving needs
• Understand our target audiences and stay apprised of evolving needs, preferences and best practices; seeking all opportunities to develop or tailor content to educate, engage and persuade them
• Evaluate reach and report on effectiveness of web content and core resources, seeking to improve performance over time

Content Management

• Periodically conduct regular audits of our websites, using analytics and user research to identify opportunities to improve the user experience via functionality, navigation, design and/or content
• Create and maintain a calendar and a process for needed web content and resource updates—working with subject matter experts and content owners across the organization as needed—to ensure websites are accurate, updated and useful
• Investigate new website content areas and optimize new and existing website content to help accomplish organizational priorities
• Manage projects to improve our digital resources, in some cases serving as lead writer and in other cases managing freelancers, and working with Communications team and others to execute projects to completion
• Proactively maintain key resources, including Help Portal and implementation guidance documents for the Integrated Thinking Principles, Integrated Reporting Framework and our Standards
• Ensure tone, voice and messaging of all content aligns with our voice, brand, strategy and mission
• Ensure all content meets our high standards for quality
• Provide editorial support on a variety of digital content as needed, including blogs, communications toolkits, press releases and publications

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in content development and writing
• Ideal candidate will have experience overseeing web content and user research, including recruiting and interviewing relevant users, surfacing findings and conducting analytics
• Exceptional writing skills across a range of formats and audiences, including the ability to distill technical and complex information clearly and powerfully
• Experience creating all types of web content, including website copy, promotional copy, articles, blogs, and presentations
• Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure, manage simultaneous projects, and meet deadlines
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced start-up environment requiring self-direction, accountability, adaptability, and a high degree of personal initiative
• Experience in graphic design and information design is a plus
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint (experience in Confluence, WordPress, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator is a plus)

• BA (required)
