Cloud Engineer
What you will do:
• Design and implement short- and long-term strategic improvement plans to ensure infrastructure services meet utility and warranty requirements and target service levels.
• Document current standards and drive the collaborative development of IT to-be service strategies and solutions (process, people and technology) for the management, improvement and growth of the infrastructure and to meet specific application, support, compliance and security requirements based on industry best practices.
• Develop, implement, and maintain operational policies, procedures, runbooks and associated training plans for the service desk (NOC/SOC), infrastructure administration and infrastructure project management based on industry-standard best practices and ISO27001-5 and SSAE 16 requirements.
• Conduct research and make recommendations on standards, products and services in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
• Participate in strategic planning, tactical operation planning, and the development of security, compliance and contingency operation plans for RMS’ information Infrastructure.
• Oversee all information systems infrastructure monitoring and analysis tools and processes for infrastructure and provide performance statistics, metrics and reports
• Manage operational costs; conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.
• Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities.
• Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.
• Lend expertise to internal teams and task forces.
• After-hours and weekend work as required to support data center changes during off-hours.
What you will need:
• 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree in a related field
• Excellent management and mentoring skills
• 5+ years of experience interfacing global teams
• Must have experience with designing, deploying and supporting virtual clouds
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Good understanding of network Layer 2 and 3 Protocols
• Strong experience with Symantec AV, Windows, Okta, AD Federation Services, Cloud SaaS, IaaS & PaaS, VMWare vSphere, OpenStack, CentOS, EMC, NetApp, Hitachi, Isilon storage, Cisco UCS, and others.
• Technical storage engineering expertise with SAN, NAS, tape libraries, Commvault backup
• Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and manuals.
• Ability to conduct research into hardware and software issues and products as required.
• Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language.
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
• Keen attention to detail
