Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of product design for a novel HVAC program
Help build and manage a core product design team
Create and manage a phase-based design development processes
Create and manage a document and revision control system
Work with operations for Enterprise Resource Management inputs from product design (BOM)
Coordinating all interdisciplinary teams with respect to product design
Help initiate and provide high level support later efforts for later phased product development, e.g., manufacturing, sustaining engineering

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering or directly adjacent field of study. MSE Product Design preferred.
>10 years of experience in product design and development, mechanical design and design for manufacturing
>10 years product design team management experience
Mastery of parametric CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred)
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Strong critical thinking skills: ability to deep dive into cause-effect and complex diagnostics
Demonstrated history of direct design contributions for products brought to market
Experience with leading innovation and invention
Extensive knowledge of a wide array of manufacturing processes, e.g. sheet forming (plastic and metal), roll forming, die cutting, injection molding, machining, welding
Structured problem-solving skills leveraging inputs such as functional documentation (P&ID diagrams, mechanical drawings)
Able to work cross discipline whether with scientists or Industrial Designers for example.
Self-starting and able to brainstorm whether in a group or on their own to create new concepts where none seemed to exist.
